From: MIND OF A SAINT - Mini Series Episode 1
Question:
Graham, where it says we have a double portion.. do we do nothing and just wait for God to give us this or should we stand on that promise and ask for it?
Many times in your meetings you say there are upgrades all over the room (storehouse full in Heaven) is it because we haven’t come boldly to the Father and asked.
Graham:
When you get a few moments look up the words Give, Gift, Gifts in a New Testament concordance. Make a list of what is being given. All these belong to you in Christ already. Talk to the Lord about it and ask Him which two or three He wants you to have in your life at this time. He often likes to group gifts or promises at any one time because there is a stronger anointing in the overlap of each gift as well as the power of each individual element.
In a fresh journal write down each gift on its own page and start to dream. There are no set questions to ask; so I won't give you any. If I did that in this exercise it would become prescriptive and more functional, when it needs to be descriptive and relational.
This is a heart appointment, not a head assignment. He wants us to see these gifts as being present in us simply because The Giver is Present within. Mostly this is a creative exercise using our emotions rather than our physical muscles. It's not just a heart workout; it's a heart makeover.
He applies His Word to build up positive feelings and thoughts to renew, restore, replenish. Much in the same way that we would take supplements, or certain foods to restore vital nutrients that were depleted in our body.
Negative emotions are connected to experiences. The specific gift[s] come between our heart and separates us to The Lord. This exercise can be enjoyed for several months or until an emotional renewal has occurred.
It is so important that we feel the Truth. Emotional response to the Living Word [Jesus] within is a key part of beholding, accepting and becoming. Newness of Life is for all of Life in us. As the gift opens us up to receive Jesus in a deeper way in our hearts we are more able to welcome and enjoy the particular part of God's Presence that He seeks to release to us.
I have often experienced the Fruit of the Spirit in the form of spiritual emotions. The incredible experience of peace was so overwhelming that the capacity for worry that I grew up with as a child was overwhelmed in my emotions by The Prince of Peace. Christ as my peace that passed all understanding became my emotional replacement for anxiety. The Holy Spirit educated me in staying free by enjoying the presence of Peace in my heart, mind and emotions. So Beautiful.
