From: Developing Your Destiny - Episode 3
What about when you hit the red light? That’s where I have been for the past 3 weeks and it’s TERRIBLE. Any advice?
So glad you asked this. A red light is not meant to be a negative...it's as much of a signal as a green light, just different responses and opportunities that often require a more elevated perspective to see clearly.
Red lights occur in many different ways. Sometimes, they are a "suddenly" of the Lord where you clearly know from Him it's time to stop. Sometimes, they seem to be obstacles to progress... but what if that apparent obstacle is actually redirection?
How does He see your red light? And Who does God want to be for you here that He couldn't be at any other time?
When a red light occurs in life... don't see it as a negative. We don't rejoice in the difficulties, but we can always rejoice in who God is for us in them.
As Graham has wisely said, “Our starting point determines our outcome.” Make your starting point a good one - and promises are a good starting. Isaiah 30:18, Proverbs 3:5 Deut. 31:8 are excellent places to start, and I believe, key promises for you in this time.
No matter if this red light is God authored or an enemy devised scheme… we can use every circumstance to grow in our relationship with God. It might not even be a true "red light" - just a new learning opportunity!
Our development towards our destiny is often accelerated in times like this, because you're training now for the challenges you will face later, so this is good news.
Be encouraged. I look forward to hearing what you discover during this valuable time.
Here are a couple of resources here on BTV for some of the questions I offered for exploration if it's of interest:
