Do I need a new encounter of the Lord to move forward?
Our knowledge of God must contain BOTH study and encounter. We don't want to just read a book about God without conversations and relational encounters with the Author!
When we live the lifestyle of a good Berean, searching out the scriptures for ourselves - and recognize the relational experiences with God that make these into living truths, transformation occurs.
But often, we look for that "mountain top high" that comes with placing our hopes on events, and not realizing that the next part of our transformation into the image of Christ may not be a new experience ahead, but getting the most out of the ones we've had. We don't want to be so quick to move on that we miss the depths of the treasure God has in those times with us.
So if you're in a place of feeling that you need a new event with God, what if there's more to discover from your current experience of Him instead?
You may wish to consider these questions:
What was my last, rich relational encounter with God?
How has it impacted the way I see my life and how I think about it?
What new language am I using that reflects that?
What fresh steps of faith am I walking into now that I didn't before?
If you aren't sure - then there's good news! There's more to discover in the riches that you have already! And maybe He's being kind enough to encourage you to look deeper rather than rush off to find the next new thing.
It's a good mindset to have regarding Graham's teaching, Brilliant TV and all that the Brilliant community has to offer. The content is so concentrated that you simply can't absorb it all... and that's OK! You and the Holy Spirit get to discover together where you want to dig deeply.
Oil isn't discovered by carving out a large pit, but by a narrow shaft that goes deep into the earth. It's okay to have a seemingly small territory that you're exploring with God. Some revelation and transformation is more about depth than breadth. Once you hit the motherlode of revelation, it produces a well that will renew, refresh and resource you always.
So how are you continuing to explore your last relational encounter with the Lord?
How have you done this so far? (We love to share those stories and ideas)
What's your next step now?
As always, thanks for going deeper, rising higher and having a good expectation of the process that makes us rich.
