Learning in the Kingdom is very different than the educational process of the world. At Brilliant TV, we want to value what God values in the process of growing up into all things in Christ. Many of the truths we emphasize or language that you hear will be new or different than what you're used to. So, here is an overview of our Brilliant Values in Kingdom Learning:
+ God’s PRIMARY PURPOSE is to continually make us into His image (Gen. 1) - so all of our learning is connected to that purpose. Therefore, a central question in our development must be: Is what I'm learning transforming me more into the image of Christ?
+ Because we are being made into the image of Christ, all learning includes the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE.
WAY: How God teaches us and how we learn always occurs within the context of our relationship with Him...and our practice ground for our learning is our real world experiences.
TRUTH: His Truth that is higher than the facts or our previous experiences. The Truth is not just a concept, it is also the person of Jesus Christ.
LIFE: Our learning leads to transformation, which leads to a lifestyle of abiding in Christ and not being pulled out of that place.
+ Learning in the Kingdom is different than the world’s educational or religious instruction systems and values. What is true in our educational, work or church experiences, personal histories or circumstances is not always the Truth.
Therefore, Kingdom learning will require UN-LEARNING old ways of perceiving and thinking about the learning process as well as active coaching in how God sees and thinks about us as we grow.
+ The process of transformation occurs through the RENEWAL OF OUR MINDS, which first involves:
PERCEPTIONS: Perceiving God, ourselves and our life situations from God’s elevated perspective. This often requires a spiritual lens change
MINDSETS: Our perceptions influence our thinking. With a proper lens, we can set our minds on things above, not things as we see them on earth.
The more our Perceptions and Mindsets align with His, two more key changes occur:
LANGUAGE: We speak about God, ourselves, others and life around us with language that is full of trust, faith and the Fruit of the Spirit.
ACTIONS: We desire to respond to our experiences of God’s true nature of love, kindness, goodness, righteousness, etc. in the same way He has been with us. As He is, so are we in this world.
+ Assessment occurs through EVIDENCES OF TRANSFORMATION. Tell us how a truth has transformed your Perceptions / Mindsets / Language / Behavior… and offer a real-life example of each. We do not assess by completion of material or tests of informational comprehension. It's the transformation in these four areas that are the true fruit of transformation.

+ You're NEVER ON THE CLOCKin the Kingdom. God doesn’t measure time. He measures growth... and He is a quickening spirit... so, you're never too far behind the time of your development to catch up to all He has for you. Always go at HIS pace in your learning.
+ We do not seek to call people out on their behavior, but CALL UP into their TRUE IDENTITY in Christ. Speaking the Truth in love says, “You can’t do that because this is who you really are.”
+ God NEVER WORKS ON A NEGATIVE. He will always, only, ever focus on your experience of Him that is missing that has led to the lesser perceptions, mindsets, language and behavioral habits that are present.
+ God is not trying to upgrade the old man because it is dead. You cannot instruct or renovate a corpse. God deals only with you as a NEW CREATION in Christ in terms of who you are and are becoming in Him.
+ We LAY ASIDE THE OLD, we don't work on it. Our focus is on embracing the new. As we fill up on the Truth of our new life in Christ, the old habits, mindsets and behaviors are displaced.
+ Your sin nature died with Jesus (Colossians 3:3). Therefore, you no longer have a sin nature, but a sin habit. We were eternally saved at salvation, but we are BEING REDEEMED EVERY DAY in how we see, think, speak and act.
+ GOD IS THE INITIATOR of our learning. Our role is to respond to the process He initiates.
+ Everyone BEGINS every learning process WITH AN “A” - for being Accepted in the Beloved, because that is their true identity.
God will never fail us. He never gives and “F” because He lives in us and He can never fail Christ in us. All your learning is covered in Jesus.
+ We never need to take anything away from people. We simply show them SOMETHING MORE BRILLIANT. They have complete freedom to choose, or not.
+ The world asks comprehension questions to assess understanding of information. God asks relational QUESTIONS OF EXPLORATION as catalyst to a conversation of discovery with Him and other fellow Kingdom travelers.

+ We desire to model and teach people HOW to think brilliantly with God...not just what to think about Him.
+ The training aspects of our instruction are DESCRIPTIVE of POSSIBILTIES and choices to make in partnership with the Holy Spirit, not a prescriptive list to be completed in a point-by-point manner.
+ When you’re learning something for the first time, you CAN'T MAKE A MISTAKE, you can only learn. Therefore, you are always free to love the learning, even if it's learning what not to do. It's still learning!
+ Our response to what God initiates in our learning is based on desire, that converts to JOYFUL INTENTIONALITY - rather than sheer discipline based on “I need to…” or “I have to…”
God gives us the will and desire to do what pleases Him (Philippians 2:13). The will and desire to grow is a gift to be received and responded to.
+ We don’t perform to get a relationship with God. PERFORMANCE IS OUR JOYFUL RESPONSE for what He has initiated in love and delight in our learning.
+ In everything, LOVE THE LEARNING - because God loves who you are and who you are becoming... and so do we!
+ Remember to always use the same vast amount of GRACE WITH YOURSELF in this process as God has for you. He is unchanging towards you in His kindness, gentleness and mercy. Jesus remembers just what it feels like to be human and has great compassion. (Ps. 103:14 & Hebrews 4:15)
