In this episode, we are looking at our journey of grace with God. Did you know that your circumstances are the main intersection of God’s story and journey with you? And it’s from these situations that you actually get to to journey with Him in His grace.
We will be exploring:
+ How EVERY situation we FACE has a primary PURPOSE: to make us in God’s image…
+ How you get to ‘travel with yourself’ the way God TRAVELS with you….
+ What GRACE really is and how it fuels our journey with HIM….
+ And a special ACTIVATION to UPGRADE your experience of GRACE…
Key Truths…
+ To travel well with God, we must allocate the same amount of grace for ourselves that He is giving to us.
+ Grace will empower you to have the starring role in your story with God.
+ Grace is God’s permission to experience His reality; grace overwhelms all negatives.
Key Scripture…
Romans 5:17-21: Death once held us in its grip, and by the blunder of one man, death reigned as king over humanity. But now, how much more are we held in the grip of grace and continue reigning as king’s in life, enjoying our regal freedom through the gift of perfect righteousness in the one and only Jesus, the Messiah! In other words, just as condemnation came upon all people through one transgression, so through one righteous act of Jesus’ sacrifice, the perfect righteousness that makes us right with God and leads us to a victorious life is now available to all. One man’s disobedience opened the door for all humanity to become sinners. So also one man’s obedience opened the door for many to be made perfectly right with God and acceptable to Him. So then, the law was introduced into God’s plan to bring the reality of human sinfulness out of hiding. And yet, wherever sin increased, there was more than enough for God’s grace to triumph all the more! And just as sin reigned through death, so also this sin-conquering grace will reign as king through righteousness, imparting eternal life through Jesus, our Lord and Messiah! (Passion Translation)
Activation…
I want to ask you some questions about your experience of grace. You can continue to ask these questions throughout the week to uncover the upgrades in grace that God has for you.
+ Do you have a constant sense of well-being about who you are in Jesus and who God is for you?
+ Is your daily experience of grace and goodness governing your mind, your will and your emotions?
+ Do you have a sense of awe about traveling with God and being personally loved by the heavenly Father? That's one side of grace.
+ Or do you judge yourself based on your performance as a believer?
+ Is your language of relationship filled with "I should have, I ought to have, I will do better…”?
+ Are you often feeling shame or pulling yourself out of condemnation?
+ Do you feel you have to do things in order to please Him or make yourself acceptable to Him?
A mindset without grace dwells on failings, shortcomings, and it internalizes condemnation. Thinking apart from grace will cause you to doubt the glory and the freedom that is yours in Jesus. A mindset without a revelation of grace can never be elevated to a higher level of relationship, trust and freedom. And that’s not how you were meant to travel with God.
We’re really thankful to be part of your journey and story here on BTV. And we’d love to hear what encounters you’re having as you go through this series in the comments.
Thanks so much for being with us!
